There’s nothing like starting a new book—getting to know the characters, diving into a storyline, and eagerly sneaking in pages whenever you can: during lunch, before bed, in between errands. But what if there was something that could make this experience even better? That’s where book clubs come in.
Book clubs aren’t just about reading—they’re about connection. They bring people together to share perspectives, exchange ideas, and discover books they might never have picked up on their own. They offer a space for learning, laughter, and lively discussions, helping us not only understand stories but also each other. And let’s not forget—they’re just plain fun!
This year, we’re introducing new book clubs while continuing to host our long-standing favorites. If you’ve never joined a book club before, now is the perfect time to start!
New Book Clubs at the Library
We’re excited to introduce three brand-new book clubs that offer something for everyone:

Silent Book Club – Prefer to read at your own pace? At Silent Book Club, you’ll enjoy an hour of uninterrupted reading, followed by an optional discussion. No assigned books—just bring what you’re reading and enjoy. Tuesdays at 7 p.m.: March 25, April 22, and May 27
Popcorn & Poetry – Love poetry? Enjoy lively discussions while snacking on popcorn. This club meets every third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Pick up a copy of the month’s selection at the Readers’ Advisory desk.
- March 20: My Back to the World by Victoria Chang
- April 17: Gumbo Ya Ya by Marie Aurielle
- May 15: Cannibal by Safiya Sinclair
Genre Book Club: Fantasy – Explore the fantasy genre, discuss a book, and share your favorites. Join us quarterly for a deep dive into different subgenres. Our first meeting is Tuesday, April 29, from 7–8 p.m., featuring Jade City by Fonda Lee. Pick up your copy six weeks in advance at the help desk.

Book Clubs for Teens
Books & Bites – Love young adult fiction? Join us to discuss a great YA read while enjoying delicious snacks. Registrants receive a free copy of the book to keep—because who doesn’t love free books? Pick up your copy at the Readers’ Advisory Desk on the main level.
This group meets quarterly on a Wednesday evening. Check our events calendar or reach out to our teen librarians for more information.
Book Clubs for Kids
Graphic Novel Book Club – For ages 9-12, this club invites young readers to discuss a new graphic novel and participate in fun activities. Registrants receive a free copy of the book to keep after registering.
Snack Chat Book Club – Kids ages 9-12 can enjoy snacks and drinks while discussing their favorite books, authors, and characters. Come ready to share a favorite book or book series, dress up as a favorite book character, or bring something book-related for show and tell.
Book Worms Book Club – Designed for beginning readers ages 5-8, this club encourages a love of reading through interactive activities. Registered participants receive a bag of materials related to an easy reader series and meet up in person for even more fun.
History Makers – Each session highlights a historical figure, using a picture-book biography read-aloud to learn about their achievements. Afterward, kids ages 5-8 participate in a discussion and a craft or activity related to the person’s life.
No matter what your reading style is, there’s a book club for you at the library. Whether you want to analyze poetry, dive into fantasy worlds, or just enjoy a quiet reading session, our book clubs provide a welcoming space to explore literature and meet fellow book lovers.
Ready to join? Stop by the library to pick up your book, or visit our website for more details. We can’t wait to read with you!
