A Look Back At 2024: Highlights, Booklists and Events

In just a day or two, we’ll welcome a new year—2025. For some, it’s a time to reflect on goals and resolutions; for others, it’s about gathering with loved ones to celebrate. However you choose to ring in the new year, all of us at PDL want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our journey in 2024. Your support is what makes the Plymouth District Library thrive, and we’re grateful to have shared this past year with you.

In 2024, over 500,000 physical books, movies, and other materials were borrowed and enjoyed by our community—and we’re confident this number will grow in 2025! With our updated catalog, finding your next great read is easier than ever. It’s designed to help you stay on top of your reading goals while discovering what others are enjoying, making your library experience even more rewarding.

Our library team has curated several unique booklists and will continue to create more tailored recommendations for you. Here are just a few:

If you haven’t used our new catalog, this is a good time to start. We have classes and videos to make it easy to get started.

EVENTS AND MOMENTS – This year has been filled with incredible milestones for Plymouth and PDL. From the grand opening of the Wilcox Amphitheater and the high participation in our Summer Reading program to well-attended author events at the Penn Theater, it’s been a joy to see so many of you make the library a part of your daily lives.

In 2024, we hosted over 900 programs, with more than 16,000 of you joining us for these activities and events. We know your time is valuable, and we deeply appreciate that you choose to spend it with us. As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to create even more memorable moments together.
