Volunteers

jim_van_v_July_09Over 150 individuals volunteer here at the Plymouth District Library in a year’s time. We welcome volunteers of all ages and are most grateful for the assistance they provide. We do require that you must live in either the City of Plymouth or Plymouth Township.

Ask for a volunteer application at the Library or complete one here.  It will be directed to Susan Stoney, Volunteer Coordinator. We hold a volunteer orientation session every 3-4 months and Susan will contact you to discuss the upcoming session and current volunteer tasks available. You can direct volunteer questions to her at
734-453-0750, ext. 242 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

FOR TEENS - - - WANT TO VOLUNTEER AT THE LIBRARY?  HERE ARE SOME OPPORTUNITIES:

SATURDAY COMPUTER TUTORS –Tutors are high school students that give one-on-one assistance to patrons for all types of computer questions in the Computer Lab of the Plymouth Library every other Saturday from 10 am – 11:30 am starting mid-September until Memorial Day except Holidays and school vacations.

SHELVING - Teens in grades 7-12 help by putting away DVDs on the main level and materials from the Youth Department. The ultimate Shelving Guide is a great reference to learn how and what to shelve.

For these opportunities you must complete the Teen Volunteer Application form or the Computer Tutor Volunteer Application.  There are monthly orientation meetings scheduled.  Be sure to bring your completed form to the orientation session!
