Plymouth District Library Low Vision Center
Our Low Vision Center is named after Chet Solowiej, former Board member, volunteer and library booster. As an active member in the Plymouth Lions Club, Chet helped the library secure Lions Foundation grants facilitating the development of our large print books, audio books and magnifier collections. He also helped establish our Low Vision Support Group.
Low Vision Support Group (Meetings Temporarily Suspended due to Covid-19)
We meet on the 1st Thursday of every month. Sessions are social and informative, and are open to anyone for whom glasses are no longer sufficient. Friends, family and caregivers are welcome to attend. Discussion covers daily living, assistive devices, accommodations, news and resources. We frequently welcome guest speakers. Past topics: Eye Diseases, Medicare, Emergency Preparedness, Descriptive Video, Siri & Alexa, Charles Bonnet Syndrome, the accessible kitchen, and so on.
Drop in and check us out.
