Plymouth District Library is 100 years old and we have a zinger of a year planned to celebrate, including a formal Gala on April 29, pop-up birthday parties, a historical exhibit and more.
PRIZES – We’ve kicked off the fun with prizes right where we connect with the community the most – the service desks! On each level of the library, every 100th person who visits a help desk for assistance will be awarded a special prize. Stop by to chat with us for book recommendations, online learning suggestions or any library need at all. Who knows… you just might be a 100th person!
POP-UP PARTIES – No birthday is complete without cake and we’ve decided to spread out the joy in hopes of celebrating with more of you. Watch for pop-up birthday cake days throughout the year and join us for a sweet treat.
HISTORICAL EXHIBIT – Over the course of 100 years, a lot of change takes place and we have the photos and documents that tell the stories. Throughout the library, enjoy decade after decade of memories on our historical exhibit panels. Is that your aunt in the 1960s cat-eye glasses? How did the library books end up at a grocery store property up Main Street? Have you got a library memory to share? Take a walk down our memory lane and tell us your stories at info@plymouthlibrary.org!
CENTENNIAL GALA – Adults 21+ are welcome to join us for an afterhours Gala in the library stacks on Saturday, April 29 from 7-10pm. Tickets for the evening are $100 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, open bar with wine and beer, and live music from the Kennebec Avenue Jazz Group. To learn more and purchase tickets, click here.
