In addition to their regular used book sale in the Library lobby, the Friends also conduct special seasonal book sales. These are normally publicized on the Library's web page.

How to donate materials to the Friends of the Plymouth District Library:

Thanks much for considering donating books or other materials to the Friends.  Our ongoing used book sale provides the library with many important items such as special programs, summer reading program supplies, new book formats and building enhancements.

DO NEED:

  • Books published in the last five years
  • Children’s books – old and new
  • Cook Books
  • Books by classic authors (Twain, Dickens, Hemingway, etc.)
  • Paperback novels, mysteries, science fiction
  • CDs and DVDs

DO NOT NEED:

  • 78 RPM records
  • Computer books more than 4 years old
  • Reader’s Digest Condensed books
  • Magazines
  • Encyclopedia more than 20 years old
  • Sets of law books
  • Leftover books from another sale
  • Textbooks older than 4 years old

Note:  We ask that you not donate more than 4-5 boxes of books per week.   You can bring your donations to the Friends bin in the library vestibule.   If the bin is full, please place your donation to the side of the bin.  Do not place your donation in front of the bin - this makes unloading the bin difficult for our volunteers.   Please throw out any musty, moldy or dirty books – if you do not, we will.

Donation receipts for tax purposes can be obtained at the front desk.

Thanks once more for your donation.
