Renovation Celebration

The Friends make Library celebration possible through hard work and financial support. Here Carla Barrett, Sally Poux, Joe Gilmore and Sharon Rucinski provide refreshments.

Friends of the Plymouth District Library generously support many programs for the children of the community. These activities include:

  • Record-breaking summer reading program for over 1250 children and 300 teens
  • "Born to Read" book bags full of pre-reading goodies for parents & grandparents of new babies
  • Kid's Book Week program and prizes
  • Programs for homeschool families

Parents and toddlers use puzzles in the Library
Teen Summer Reading Event

As a commitment to the entire Library community, the Friends also provide these services on an on-going basis:

  • Various volunteer work assignments in the library
  • Used Book Sale all year round
  • Special Book Sales throughout the year
  • Sale of Old and Rare Used Books via the Internet
  • Seasonal floral displays and statues for the Library
  • Special event sponsorship and assistance, like the Renovation Celebration in October 2007.
