Internet Access for the Public
- Internet computers
for public use are located on the Upper Level of the library. All patrons
using these computers must have a library card. If you don't have one, you
may apply for one free of charge at the Circulation Desk. Temporary cards
are issued for guests. There is a limit of one hour at a time. All computers
come equipped with 3.5" floppy
drives, CD-ROM drives (no burners), USB ports in the front, and headphone
jacks in the front. (You supply your own headphones!) All Internet computers
have the following software installed: IE 6.0, MS Office 2003 Pro (Word,
Powerpoint,Excel, Access, & Publisher),
Adobe Reader 8.0, Macromedia Flash & Shockwave, Java, Apple Quicktime,
and Windows Media Player 10.
- Printing from
these workstations is routed to a network laser printer (black & white)
located at the Print Retrieval Station and costs $.10 per page.
Money must be prepaid to patron's library account prior to
printing.
- In addition,
there are six e-mail kiosks on the main level on a first-come, first-serve
basis. There
is a ten-minute time limit on these machines. No printing is available
from these stations.
- Everyone accessing the Internet from the Library must abide by the
Plymouth District Library Internet Policy and the Plymouth District Library Internet Procedures.
