Storytimes
Lap
Sit Storytime for children 6 to 24 months - Lap
sit storytime is a 15 minute song and rhyme time for babies on their
care-giver
laps.
Storytimes will be held on Monday, October 13th at
10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and will be repeated on Saturday, October 18th at
10:00 a.m. Registration for all sessions will begin on Monday, October 6th. Limit
of 16 children per session. Wait list is available. Registered care-giver
and baby only, please!
Baby Play! for children 6 to 24 months - Baby Play! is a 20 minute story and play time for babies and their caregivers. Baby Play! will be held on Monday, October 27th at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and repeated on Saturday, November 1st at 10 a.m. No registration required.
Preschool/Family Evening storytime for children 2 to 5 years old - These
programs allow siblings and other family members to attend as long
as one member is between
the ages of 2 and 5. Storytimes start at 7:00 pm on Tuesdays, Novermber 4-25 and Wednesdays, November 5-26. Registration begins
October 28th.
Toddler/Parent
storytime for children 2 to 3 1/2 years old- Two
programs will be offered. The 10 a.m. program is for one
adult with each toddler. Exceptions are made for twins, otherwise please make other arrangements for siblings. The 11 a.m. program allows other family
members to attend as long as one member is between the ages of 2
and 3 1/2. These
programs run on Tuesdays, November 4 - 25.
Registration begins on October 28th.
Preschool storytime
for children 3 1/2 to 5 years old- Two storytimes
will be offered;
one at 10 a.m. and the other at 1 p.m. These programs run on Thursdays, November 6 -20. Children
must be prepared to attend without an adult; caretakers must remain
in the library.

LIBRARY GROUPS MEETING DURING
November
$$$ AND SENSE –– Wednesday, November 5, 1pm.
Join with others who are interested in learning and sharing information
on personal finance and investing at this discussion group at the
Library. The group provides a forum to study
and share personal investment information, learn investment terminology,
review different investment tools, and study individual stocks,
mutual funds, annuities, etc. Each month, members follow and report
on a mock portfolio they set up on the Internet. This is not a
stock club, no monies are involved; members plan, moderate, and
participate in each meeting. New members are welcome at any meeting.
Meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of the month in
a Library meeting room.
LOW VISION SUPPORT GROUP – Thursday, November
6, 1 pm
This meeting will take place on the first Thursday of every month.
Participants will share advice on coping skills and adaptive technologies
in a supportive atmosphere. A qualified facilitator will lead the
group. Library staff members will be on hand to provide assistance
with Library equipment, services and offerings. For more information

The Plymouth District Library Board will hold its regularly scheduled
monthly meeting in the Library. This meeting is open to the public.

COMPUTER NEWS
Plymouth residency is required for all attendees of the Library's
computer training classes. Please register by calling 734-453-0750,
ext. 4.
BASIC INTERNET SEARCHING –Monday, November 3, 11:00 am-
12:30 pm ~ This class for Plymouth residents will help
computer users learn the basics of using the Internet. This will
include an explanation of terms, use of a browser and utilizing
search engines on the World Wide Web. Participants should be comfortable
with the Microsoft Windows basics and using a mouse. Training is
based on the hardware and software available in the Library.
INTRO TO MS WORD –Wednesday, November 5, 7:00 pm -8:30
pm ~ Students will learn how to open, close, modify,
save and print a basic Word document. The class covers basic features
of this software program only. Students must be comfortable keyboarding
and using a mouse prior to taking this class.
COMPUTER BASICS –Wednesday, November 6, 11:00 am - 12:30
pm ~ This course is designed to teach Microsoft Windows
and basic mousing skills to Plymouth residents. This class provides
one session of mousing practice and hands-on work with the keyboard
and Windows. Participants are urged to return during the Drop-in
tutoring sessions for additional practice.
MAKE A BUDGET WITH MS EXCEL - Monday, November 10, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm ~ Find out how to make a household or personal budget while learning Microsoft Excel. You must be comfortable with keyboarding and Microsoft Windows basics before signing up for this class.
INTERMEDIATE MS WORD - Wednesday, November 12, 7:00 pm
- 8:30 pm ~ In
this class students will learn how to adjust a layout using Page
Setup, use auto correct, insert dates and symbols, work with two
Word documents at the same time, and more.
TIPS for GOOGLE and YAHOO –Thursday, November 13, 3:00 pm
- 4:30 pm ~ Join us to learn how to do so much more with these
two popular search tools. You’ll learn how to access word
definitions, measurement conversions, instant maps, stock quotes
and more.
MS EXCEL LEVEL II - Monday, November 17, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm ~ For students who have completed the Make a Budget with Excel Class. Excel II will cover the use of functions, Inserting comments, create a chart, learn to insert rows and columns, formatting the spreadsheet and printing the spreadsheet.
CREATING AN ADDRESS BOOK AND LABELS IN MS WORD - Wednesday, November 19, 7:00 pm- 8:30 pm ~ All class participants must be able to type on the keyboard and must be comfortable with using MS Word basics and Windows. In this class students will learn how to create an address book; do a mail merge; and set up labels for envelopes.
BASIC EMAIL - Friday, November 21, 10:00 pm - 11:30 am ~ Learn how to create a free e-mail account using Yahoo in this one-session class. You will also learn how to compose, send and delete email messages on that account.
INTRODUCTION TO POWERPOINT - Monday, November 24, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm ~ Learn the basics of how to do a computer slide presentation using Microsoft Powerpoint. Topics include selecting a template, adding text and graphics, and then putting the entire finished product together into a slideshow. Participants must be comfortable using MS Windows and have good keyboarding skills.
DROP IN COMPUTER TRAINING –Saturdays November 8 and 22, 10:00am - 12:30 pm ~ High school students will teach Plymouth
residents to use a mouse, Windows 2000, the Library catalog, the
Internet and how to set up a free e-mail account using Hotmail
or Yahoo! We do offer basic training in MS Word. However, we do
not offer training in Windows Vista or other software programs.
