SENIOR CARE RESOURCES PROGRAM Print E-mail

Join us at the Plymouth District Library for an educational panel presentation on Senior Care Resources, Wednesday, March 20 at 6 pm. on the Main Level.  The panel includes an Elder Care Attorney, a Community Liaison from Comfort Keepers, a Financial Services Representative, and the Director of Case Management from St. Mary Mercy Hospital.  Presentations are brief so there is time for questions.  Please register by calling the Library at 734-453-0750, press 4.

taxAARP will continue helping with Income Taxes in 2013, but there is a NEW PROCEDURE in place.  Calls for Tax appointments will be accepted after JANUARY 1st. at the PLYMOUTH DISTRICT LIBRARY.  Call 453-0750, ext. 229.  Leave your name and phone number with area code.  You will receive a return call to schedule your appointment.

The PCCA OFFICE will NO LONGER provide tax appointments!

lionsclubPlymouth Lions Club announces
Adult Diabetes Support Group at the Plymouth District Library.

Club meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm.

Fern Vining, a registered nurse and certified diabetes education will be the group facilitator.  Discussion topics include:

  • Understanding diabetes
  • Self management strategies
  • Meal planning and tips when eating out

Everyone is welcome to attend!

Low Vision Info Session –First Thursdays of each month, 1pm
Low Vision Info Sessions are held on the first Thursday of every month, at 1:00 p.m., at the Plymouth District Library, and are intended for anyone for whom glasses are no longer sufficient. Participants share advice on coping skills and adaptive technologies in a supportive atmosphere. These social and informative sessions are facilitated by a professional, and are free and open to anyone with low vision, caregivers and friends. Guest Speakers are frequently scheduled and cover a variety of topics relevant to living better with low vision. Advance registration NOT required. Expand Your Horizons - - Join a Group !

  • Senior Writing Group- Get help writing your life story.  Meets the 1st Tuesday of every month from 1:30-3:00pm.
  • Plymouth Library Garden Group - discusses various aspects of gardening and landscaping. Meetings are at 7:00pm on the 4th Thursday of each month April through October.
  • Needlework Group - includes knitters, quilters and other kinds of handicrafters. Bring your current project to share with this group on the 4th
  • Book Discussion Groups - Join Brown Bag Books and meet on 4th Wednesday of each month at noon, or come to Contemporary Books that meets at 7:30pm on the 2nd. Tuesday of each month.
  • E-Reader User's Group - If you own an e-reader or are thinking about purchasing one, join our group to learn how to get the most from it.  Meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Computer Lab on the Upper Level.

Homebound Delivery Service

The Plymouth District Library offers service to residents of Plymouth and Plymouth Twp. who are physically unable to come to the library due to a permanent or temporary (3 month minimum) illness or disability.
