Wednesday, November 28, at 7:00 p.m.Local resident and award winning author Robert H. Miller shares his books:
These books focus, respectively, on the author's father, Herbert Henry Miller, via the WWII Red Cross diary kept while a prisoner of war in Nazi Germany, and, on the stories of living veterans. The Portraits of Service Exhibition will be on display during this event. Books will be available for purchase. This event is free and open to the public. Sign-up is requested by phone at 734.453.0750, ext.4, or online. Sponsored by Friends of the Library. "The purpose of "Portraits of Service" is to focus public attention on living veterans of all wars and from many countries who have made personal sacrifices and, in many cases, undergone the horrors of combat... Photographers Robert Miller and Andrew Wakeford approached this project with a desire to understand the obstacles each veteran has faced and to recognize their efforts by taking their photos and allowing them to tell their stories."
