Reading

  • Plymouth District Library Booklists Lists of books you might want to read organized by grade and by interests.
  • ABCs & Phonics(For preschool through 1st grade) Fun crafts and online activities with letter sounds, phonics, and ebooks.
  • TumblebooksInteractive audio books for elementary school children, includes accelerated reader quizzes and other activities.
  • Reading PlanetInterviews with authors, games, and stories.
  • Learning Express Grades 4 -12. Reading comprehension and vocabylary. Take tests and learn about your reading strengths and where you need to learn more.

    Spelling

  • Spelling Bee

  • Kids Spell Type in your assigned spelling words and then play games that use those words. A fun way to practice and learn.
  • Kids' Dictionaries Check out Word Central for Miriam-Webster dictionary, thesaurus and word games. Fact Monster has links to dictionaries and lots of homework subjects.

    Writing

  • Elements of a Story Takes familiar stories and shows how the elements (setting, characters, plot) work together.
  • How to Write(Grades 1-12) Tips on picking a topic and examples of other students work categorized by grade level.
  • Writing Help from TIME The professional writers at TIME magazine give expert tips on how to write compare/contrast, news reports, personal narratives, biographies and lots more. Includes a writers toolbox with online dictionaries, maps, and clip art.
  • Grammar Blast (Grades 2-5) Multiple choice quizes & games to test your grammar know-how.
  • Grammar and Writing Exerices (Grades 4-12) Writing and grammar practice with tests and results to help you improve.

    Book Reports
