How can I tell if my doctor is certified?

The American Board of Medical Specialties maintain a website with Certified Doctor Verification Service which lists " ALL PHYSICIANS CERTIFIED BY AN ABMS MEMBER BOARD." Register for free and you may search up to five names on their site.

You may also call 1-800-776-2378 and the operator can tell caller if the doctor in question is board-certified and, if so, the field and year in which the certification was obtained.

The Plymouth District Library has in its Reference collection the multi-volume Official ABMS Directory of Board Certified Medical Specialists, 2005.
